Batsomi Investment Holdings is a black economic empowerment (BEE) company, formed in 1998 by Jacob RD Modise and a group of black business individuals with a broad diversity of management and business skills. The company was formed to harness the individual networks and capabilities of the founders and build a strong BEE company that could participate in the new opportunities that arose at the time.
In the early days, the group was an investment holdings company, acquiring interests in the hospitality and gaming sectors. Since 2004, the group has transformed into an operating entity with a focus in the health, power, defence and technology, tourism and leisure sectors. Additionally, it has aligned itself with government’s objectives of fostering the development of black industrial groups that will own and control the majority shares of specific sectors of the
economy.
